The Red Cross is mandated by Congress to provide communications and other services to active duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces and community-based military and their families.

We communicate family deaths, births or serious illnesses and provide military commanders with information to help decide emergency leaves, deferments, compassionate reassignments and dependency discharges.
